This is the bridge I used to cross every day (for three years) on my way to school! I didn't realize A.Y. Jackson painted it. Perhaps, I would have loved the bridge instead of loathed it, if I knew one of my favourite painters actually painted it.

The reason for the loathing, is that in the winter, when the river was frozen and buckled and resemled cottage cheese, I used to have nightmares about driving over the bridge and getting trapped under the ice. I was only 12 at the time.

It doesn't look nearly as foreboding in this picture...

Hope you enjoy the trip!

How often does it happen that both Melissa and Milissa drop by? So good to hear from you both!

Peace River was great. The sky was that pristine blue that Courtney Milne loves to photograph, and I listened to CBC Radio 1 pretty much the whole way. Sadly, this bridge that Jackson painted has been replaced by a newer, much uglier one... (probably the one you knew, Milissa). I'll try to add my picture in so you can compare.
