To be or not to be!?!?! :)

Matthew was telling me about this thing on the internet that you can translate sentences into, in this case Japanese, and then translate them back to English and the wording is significally transformed. A friend of ours, Tamara, introduced it......it's neat, so I thought I'd try it....

Sentence I chose: "To be or not to be, that is the question"

Translated to and from and ended up as........

Because of a certain or because it is not, it is question

It's fun......nice study break....I have a final in about 3 hours....yikes!!!....well back to it :)

Hey Krista,
http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr
Indeed...it's hours of fun.

For example: Could you run that by me again, please? becomes...
You rejoice that it moves due to me for the second time it is possible

and...
See you there, cool cats! becomes...
Cooling the cat it probably will meet there!

Yep just mindless good times...

Thanks Krista! I'm always looking for new ways to take a break at work...

When I worked at the English school, my Japanese students taught me how to say "My farts destroy buildings" And "I belch louder than Godzilla." Since then I have impressed many a Japanese with these choice phrases.

So I tried these out and they become "My farts destroys the building" (must be a universal phenomenon) and "I from Godzilla spit out with yell." Fun!

(google also has this same function under language tools... comes in very handy for french homework, but you didn't hear that from me;)

Thanks for including the web page address in your comment, Kim...I realized afterwards that I forgot to put in in my entry :)

As well, thanks all, for your contributing phrases. It's fun to see the different translations and the way they end up.

Thanks for your story, jessica, about your experience with your students.....that phrase with Godzilla was definitely quite different.

I'll have to check out the google spot...mums the word about french homework, eh Victoria? ;)

As well, Tamara thanks for the trend you started. It's lot of fun. I have 2 finals tomorrow, so things of this nature are bringing me joy these days...anything for a good chuckle :) Looking forward to meeting you one day too! Have heard great things, and for now internet is pretty rad!

Ciao for niao! (chow for now...I made that one up)

Oh great...now I am addicted too.
Do we have too much time on our hands or not enough?

I went from English to traditional Chinese and back again.

"When will Phil come home? I miss him sorely." becomes "When will Feir obtain the family? My ache thinks of him."

It seems everyone is now wondering: when WILL he obtain the family?

Yea! A new way to amuse myself (like I needed help).

I looked at your wedding photos...there's no where to post on that site so I'll say it here (especially since I don't know you and have no other way to do it).

1. Congrats and may God grant you many years.
2. Absolutely gorgeous! Really... very stunning wedding and couple! And the Ikons....wow! What a gift!

Hello again!!!

I'm hoping to post something new again soon... I'm finally done my final exams and my next clinical experience (I'm a nursing student) is in a mental hospital.....Matthew was talking on the phone to one of his friends recently, and said that my final exams drove me to it (hope you catch the humour over the computer :).

Anywhoo, also just wanted to say that I'm always so honoured when people post...Good to have you on board Biss....and congratulations to both you and Phil on your wedding....how exciting and awesome :) Looking forward to getting to know you more in the future... As well, let us all know if Feir ever DOES retain the family will you (hee! hee!lol :)...

As well, Welcome Stacey....look forward to hearing from you more :)
I looked at your profile and there are some pretty cool looking books on your favourites list...I may have to break off of my school studies here from time to time and actually read some more books of substance.... Thanks!
